For over 21 years we (Devon Princess Cruises) in conjunction with the RSPB were the original operators of Avocet Bird watching Cruises on the River Exe. We are pleased to announce the arrival of The Dartmouth Castle, our latest vessel cruising the River Exe.

The Dartmouth Castle is listed as an Historic Ship in the National Register of Historic Vessels and after a complete 2 year refit now operates a number of different trips from Exmouth and Torbay. Including Sightseeing and Coastal Cruises, Bird Watching Cruises on the River Exe, Evening Cruises, Fireworks & Red Arrow Special Cruises, Disco/Party Cruises and Corporate Hospitality.

We are also available for private charter both during the summer and winter seasons. Subject to weather and other circumstances including tides.

We offer discounts for group bookings on most of our trips and cruises and are pleased to quote special prices for clubs and organisations. Please contact us if you would like any further information or to book a cruise.

Avocet Bird Watching Cruises

We offer a number of Avocet Bird Watching Cruises on the River Exe through out the winter. The River Exe is renowned for its wildfowl and other bird life. All Bird Watching Cruises on the River Exe are timed to coincide with the low tide, as many as 40 species of wildfowl and waders totaling 20,000 plus birds can be expected, including Pintail, Wigeon, Goldeneye, Red-breasted Merganser, Greenshank, Golden Plover, both Godwits, Brent Geese, Slavonian Grebe in handsome monochrome winter plumage and of course hundreds of Avocets. 

These cruises are 3 - 4 hours long with an expert commentary provided by John Waldon. John worked for the RSPB for over 20 years and during this time became the South West Regional Officer. He has watched birds on the Exe for even longer and will be able to identify all the birds, rare and common, that you will see. The Jurassic Coast Cruises

We also offer a range of cruises around the coast to the UK's only natural World Heritage Site. Between Exmouth and Studland Bay you will find over 185 million years of history. Jurassic Coast Cruises run at various times throughout the summer and are also available through private charter.

Lady Penny Charters

If you are looking for something special why not charter the Lady Penny. The Lady Penny is a Moonraker Charter Boat licensed for 12 persons & 2 crew. She is available for private charters ranging from 2 hours to 2 days.

Torquay, Paignton and Brixham - Torbay

The ports of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham are set in the picturesque Torbay on the South Devon Coast. If you are visiting Torbay don't miss out on the fabulous coast line. Take a Cruise!

We operate all year round. In the summer months we run cruises and private charters in the lovely Torbay. The three harbours of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham provide great destinations for short cruises around the bay.

With cruises leaving Torbay to The River Dart or The River Exe we have something to suit everybody.
